OK, I do work for Werner and thus far have not had much really bad to say about them. I am however starting to get a little upset. I was recently forced to change positions from day cab back to road truck. This itself makes me mad, but I can deal with that as I know stuff happens and things change. What scared me though is the truck they gave me. I do not know how somebody could have possibly let a truck get this bad and still live in it.

As a smoker I know that nicotine can stain, but I have never seen it as bad as this truck was. What makes me maddest about this entire thing is the way I was treated in this change. First I was given no notice on the change. I came in one morning and was told you can go back in a road truck or quit. Then after 5 days of waiting for a truck to get into they gave me the most filthy disgusting truck I have seen. When I asked if they were serious was told take it or go home.

If there is a bright spot in this it is that I am supposed to be paid $40 for my efforts in cleaning the truck. Really not to bright though as I have already invested more than that in cleaning supplies and nearly 20 hours of time and still have more to go. It took me over 3 hours to clean an area enough for me to put my stuff in it.

I would have just walked which is what I think they wanted me to do, but I do have a family to support and it is not really a good time to be job hopping. I still am somewhat content overall with my job as I have made decent money, but I have to see what this change brings. Also just so you know I am on a dedicated account and these things came from the account not the big office. I have never done otr for Werner and do not think that I could. If it comes to that I think I will have to consider fast food or Walmart as I would probably make about the same.

With the exception of the floor the truck actually does not look too bad now, but I have put a lot of work into it to get it clean. I am unsure on how I will get the floor clean. I may just get some carpet or mats and lay them out, turn the heat on high for a while and I figure they will become permanently adhered when it cools.

Still there, it is close to home and when things go well you can make money. Going well can be hit or miss though. I figure I will ride it out as my options right now really do not look much better.

Assorted degreasers and scrub brushes, the problem is getting it up. If I had a good shop vac I was willing to trash I could put more liquid down and be able to get it back up. I do not have anywhere good to try to work on it as I have been stranded at shippers and stores since I have had the truck. The floor in the bunk is not bad and I do not want to put too much liquid down and have it run back. I just bought a wire brush and may be able to get it loose and sweep it out. I will see when I go back.

atleast on the walmart account you can get home every weekend, as long as that hasnt changed. it is mainly regional, michigan, indiana, illinois, and some ohio i think.

You get home every week, not weekend, I do have Sunday though. Yes it is mainly regional. It runs all of Indiana, about half of Ohio, most all of Michigan, northern Kentucky, and Eastern Illinois. Back hauls can be from even further into these states and into Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Walmart unloads, on multiple stop trips though you must make sure they take the right stuff. It would seem that some stores employees cannot read the big store number on the pallet, either that or they do not know which store they work at. Most stores however are good.
