'Worst Safety Record' amongst the Werner fleets.

Tight backs in the ghetto.

Heard that from the safety guy in Allentown; immediately switched to OTR.

You'll spend more time unloading than driving.

Spent 14 months w. Big Blue.

Edit: That was Family Dollar (Rome, NY) - might be a bit easier since you're in the South.

 

Warner came to our school twice within a week. I almost applied to them for a DG account, but then I got to thinking about all of the screwed up little places I have seen DG's and imagined backing 60+ feet of truck into them... and then thought about climbing up in the trailer and messing around after all of that fun...

The guys that do it are tougher than me.

 

Schneider does a lot of the dollar general or family dollar accounts and I have seen pictures from them of 53ft of nightmare from inside that trailer they have to unload.. I'm far from a lazy person but unless it pays atleast 350 to 400 per day. Their is no way I would to tackle the nightmare from the pics I've been shown. And everytime I ride to the hotel with students in the van from one of the operating centers I ask them what kinda job they gonna do. Almost every time they say the Family dollar and they are all motivated and pumped saying they will be home an this and that.. I never say nothing negative at all because I'm not gonna bring their motivation down on purpose.. But now I think about I never see any of them again after that.. They replace those guys like crazy I guess.. Now ur job might be different and be perfect for where u live. At the end of the day no matter what.. you got a job and making money and that is all that really counts.. good luck an god bless

 

There's a reason why the blue jew does it cheap ...can bet you will be doin it cheap too.

 

If you can do 400 a day one day and atleast 250 the next day.. because usually you can have 1 great day and next ok.. then it should be well worth the work.. I have no idea how they pay though.. by hour during unloading maybe.. Idk.. I do know guys that I've seen as somewhat experienced drivers doing this all always had a student.. in guessing it makes unloading a lot easier plus the 80 extra dollars a day is nice at end of the week to train someone

Werner is a lousy and stupid company. I did DG and yes you can take home after taxes $1,500 a week I did and I'm old and slow. The guys that get good at it make more than that. I could not stay at Werner even if they weren't stupid and lousy. I could not stand that idle system that constantly wakes you up starting and stopping the engine for air conditioning all night long , drove me crazy. I thinks it's just a starter company.
