Hey friend sorry your in such a bad mood. But come on think about it. Ya put out hundreds of trks on the rd. You put in-experienced drivers in them. These trks get wrecked by the dozens each day! There used as profit and loss write offs through taxes. Then you take the profits of loads that do get delivered safely minus the insult pay that the driver gets paid. Leaving more to cover trk expense and it all adds up to PROFIT for Werner. While the newbie drivers get screwed. Besides friend if you dont believe me thats your choice. But if you want the truth? Go to work for Werner if your not already and see if your thoughts change. Take care Be Safe and Roll on friend

I know at the end of orientation with Roehl, each of us got on the phone with HR and they wanted to know if we were: unemployed and/or veterans, as they would receive money from the government. I know this was part of President Obama's "Jobs Act". Honestly I do not know if that was ever passed. However, those programs usually build on existing programs or are simply decreed by Executive Order.

The link to the White House regarding the Jobs Act is:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/economy/jobsact

Here is the link for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (from the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency, UIA):
http://www.michigan.gov/uia/0,4680,7-118--78849--,00.html

"The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is available to private-for-profit employers who hire from specific targeted groups of people that have in the past experienced difficulty in securing employment. Work Opportunity allows maximum credits for the first year of employment of $4,800 for the disabled veteran target group, $4,000 for a long-term TANF (temporary assistance for needy families) recipient, $1,200 for summer youth and $2,400 for all other target groups. Work Opportunity also allows an additional credit of $5,000 for a long-term TANF recipient employed for a second year."

I guess the assumption would be that with all of the bad press surrounding Werner on the Internet, you would have to be very desperate for a job in order to take a job with them--meaning you were a long term unemployed person who qualified for such money. With a 29% unemployment rate for Veterans, I would assume many going into trucking, like myself, are veterans.

Hello friend, in response to your statement. If you would like to know how Werner is doing this? Reference the U.S. IRS Tax manual....Profit/Loss. exemption catagory J chap 354 sub- section 180945.awol

Hello friend, sorry thoughts get to rolling and punctuation goes right out the window. Here is your clarification. You will get told to hook up to and pull trailers that clearly have mechanical D.O.T. violations. Werner dispatchers will ask you if lights work? If you say yes, they'll tell you to roll with the trailer and they'll fix trailer after you deliver!(NOT) If you get stopped friend it's YOUR license that gets screwed. Werner dispatchers take advantage of the new drivers lack of experience and use intimidation tactics to get the load moved. Clarification 2 - If your driving a Werner trk? And that trk needs repair? Unless that trk is sitting on the side of a road somewhere. They will not fix your trk on the road. Only place they will fix your truck is at their terminal and then you may end up waiting a wk due to back up of broke down trucks. If your working for Werner every chance you get. Stop at corporate yard in Omaha for your repairs. AVOID ever going to their Dallas term unless you want your truck jury rigged. Hope that clears your confusion friend. Be safe and Roll on

Hello friend, just wanted to pat you on the back friend. For you must have GREAT budgeting skills or your last job was at the local Waffle House if you feel $500 a wk is great money? No offense intended friend. Getting home every two wks is GREAT! But again patting you on the back friend. Becuz if in todays economy you can live on $2K a month meet your bills save for retirement take care of a family and NOT LIVE payck to payck? Your WAY smarter then the rest of us friend. And as far as "growing some" friend. That was a tacky statement but your words, besides your last statement enlightens everyone . How you may ask friend? Well you say I'm a complainer regarding being paid what (I THINK I'm WORTH versus what a company actually pays a driver) Well friend I'm a no better then anyone else out here pushing an ole truck. BUT friend I'm a company driver and I clear $1,100.00 a wk net. So whose company yours or mine places MORE value on their drivers? ......send me your address friend and I'll be sure to send you a coupon for some Miracle GROW! ...Be safe and Roll on Friend
