Okay, it's been forever, so let me update how I've been.

I finally finished my training, ended up getting a male trainer because all the female ones were psycho. I didn't meet a sane one in the whole bunch, except for Carol, the first one, and she was still psycho. If you go to Werner and end up with a female, DO NOT hesitate to ask for a new trainer at the first sign of something wrong. Don't put up with anyone yelling at you, or anything that makes you uncomfortable. Don't quit!

The male trainer was professional, and so nice that I adopted him as my father. His name is Danny; ask for Danny Tucker if you get the chance. Tell him I sent you.

As for my truck, it's fantastic. It's a 2006 Kenworth (the battery keeps going dead, but that's okay, they pay for the jump), and I average 3k miles a week.

The woman who said that her radio won't turn off in the rear bunk, there is a trick. Press the volume button in, then turn the fade off. It will pull the volume from the rear completely.

If anyone that has read all my posts wants to team, send me a message. I don't want to work with anyone that doesnt know all about me, and if you're not in these forums, I ain't telling anyone new=D

I missed hearing from you! I'm back ya'll!

Good to hear from you again. If you can give us more info now that you are out soloing that would be great for those who are researching Werner. Give the good and the bad as that is very helpful.

It's been a while from the last time I posted, boy did I get a lesson. So I originally started with werner to pull flat bed my sdm tells me do 140 dry box and you can do 140 flat bed. At the 140 point I call my sdm and he says no flat trainer available, so I proceed with my hours. 250 goes by and still no trainer available. I get off the truck at springfield, wait 18 days and dont get a trainer the 19th day 2 flatbed trainers pull in. I thought shurly 1 was for me. The sdm tells me no fb trainers in area so I inform him 2 pulled in today and are looking for trainees? Before he can receive the truck # he knows they are going to Atl. for students? WTF. So I tell him I really need something. He says the only thing he can do is to put me on a greydog to california because thats where all the flatbeds trainers are "lie", or if I choose to go ahead and do dryvan lots of dryvan trucks as far as the eye could see.So I resigned, hopped in to a dryvan with trainer to finish my last 20 hrs and ran to Ca. figuring ill do 6-8 months and go to truckers marine corp. No truck in Ca. They put us in a rental to denver no trucks, another rental to shanahan Il. drop yard and pick up a pete 387. No charge on the batteries, fuel is below E line? Ok winners strive through adversity? So they get road breakdown bump the battery get clearance to run I 80 to exit 120 pilot. No ultra low sulfur and they wont allow werner trucks to fuel even with clearance unless O/O. I spend 3 days sitting there waiting for road break down to arrive to bring me fuel, no idling at all, in contact every 3-4 hours with my dispatcher for an E.T.A. Road breakdown gets there and fills me with 38 gallons of fuel. WOOO HOOO Time for DADDY to grab some gears and make some wooden nickels . "right" the starter is dead. They put me and my belongings into a cab, and I take the greydog express back to where home is. a 8 hr. ride. So I wait for my truck to get fixed. and wait 3 weeks and they put me on voluntary leave of absence and fire me? To bad omaha nebraska is so far to drive my personal car,I would love to black some peoples eyes. So not kidding.
SO whats the next best thing. I have a close friend that works the accounting division for them. When they say we need to give you an additional 40-50 hrs of training and offer you 50 dollars a day with your 40 dollar perdium pay ask for 100 plus perdium.,but if you have Jerome Kinkle give up he is a known cheap skate and lier. Ohhh he talks a great game but you should let him know that you know the federal government gives werner a 5000 tax break for a student to step in the truck , another 2500 for training after the 275 hours. So that extra 40 -50 hrs of training made them 2500 and all of a sudden its uhhh uhhhh uhhghh. They write everything off at the end of the year even the new cascadias that everyone hears students are getting with apu's, I heard that the trucks are so heavily insured with werner and government funding that if the student wrecks it, no big deal they have the gov. ins pay for the truck loss and then there ins. purchases another one and its written off under government policy. To boost the training of students, again I say WTF. Thats why they can afford to train every tom, dick and trained monkey with a cdl and have 125% turn over and still claim 4 million in clear profits. Black eyes people and i'd be givin lots of em. Friends in intell places truly shock me people. werner seemed great when i started but just went down hill steadily.
Now I understand clearly what some of you warned me about. I sit here Thankful yet throughly humbled gentlemen
If something doesnt read right i will be happy to edit later.

Hi everyone. I'm graduating from trucking school on 7/3/08 and I'm probably going with Werner. I have already passed my mock test with a 94 on pre-trip and maneuvers, and a 95 on driving. It sure takes some of the worry off for my CDL test to get in the 90's. I just want to thank everyone for all of the posts concerning Werner, both good and bad. I always knew better than to beleive any more than about 25% of what recruiters or disgruntled employees say, and your posts have helped alot. Anyway, wish me luck and keep the rubber down.

If I was you I wouldnt go with werner, they are by far the worst company for new drivers to start out with. I would go with Roehl or Schneider, I worked the pumpkin and loved it, but now im working locally. ANyway you do what you want but I warn dont go there you wont be happy.

Wait a minute! I think we are about to have a fight between two companies. Most on here say Swift is the worst company to start out with and you are saying it is Werner. LOL

I guess mentioning Swift and Werner in the same post gets a moderator review since it told me my reply had to be reviewed by a moderator first. Then again, this went right through. Don't know what I said in the first reply that warranted a review, as I was just making a joke.

Welcome back Fyrstar! We were wondering how it went. Where did you go to school? I live on the Virginia Peninsula.
