PTL won't touch me because I don't have three months in the last five yrs, all I have is 3 months in the last five yrs. My options are just so limited, there is very few companies that will look at me. Werner and swift are the only ones will accept me. CRST would take me, but I don't want to do team and they want me out for about 4 weeks. I just feel like Werner is the lesser of two evils compared to Swift. Unless you some other companies in mind. I'm all for other options.

If I were you man I'd choose swift over Werner. From what I hear from Swift drivers, Alot of them are happy there. Swift may have a bad rep but I promise you they are better than Werner.
Edit: In all honesty, if you want to be home more do a bit of time OTR gain the experience and more doors will open. Don't risk your Cdl for a DG account.DriveItUSA and TruckDuo Thank this. -
if you stay on with werner i suggest going 48 states otr. dedicated/regional wont pay you squat. after a year become a trainer and get paid your cpm for your miles and your students miles. -
I have talked to Marten, they want 6 months, I have not contacted Crete though. I will do that in a few mins... thank you for the advice

Well I've tried Crete, Prime, Marten, TMC, Conway, May, Melton, Roel, among several others and none of them can help me. I'm still waiting on a call back from Schneider, not sure what they can do, but as it stands now its either Werner or Swift. Werner could get me home every week on a dedicated account which is more than swift can do. My buddy drives for Swift and can never get home when he wants to. I don't mind doing the physical work, actually looking forward to it, but I am concerned with the backing in tight spaces and all of that. I don't know, but I need to make a decision today for sure.

I assume Werner will be sending you out with a trainer for awhile?
With your limited experience and five years away from drivin' Big trucks, --- without at least a refresher course to bring you up to speed, you may be setting yourself up for failure. A termination could put an end to a career before it begins. You may prefer to avoid going through Big truck truck drivin' training again, but there's a good possibility that you should,--- especially if you plan to run a dedicated account known for tricky backing and tight places. Are you confident enough with your abilities to handle the program?
Shortcuts can lead to dead-ends.
Be careful.

I'm fully prepared to go with a trainer and expect that, I'm not thinking of just going into my own truck right off the bat. But the only companies that will let me come in and go with a trainer without going back to school are Swift and Werner. And out of those two I'm leaving towards Werner because of the dedicated account and being able to be home more.

The pros are (as I understand it), you can expect to sleep in your own bed 2-3 nights a week if that's a plus for you. For some, that would be a con.
AfterShock Thanks this.
