Stay away from Werner, I was recently terminated because of a recent "policy change" that took effect which disqualifies drivers for a new set of reasons. This is why CL and Greg as well as they others are getting bonuses they are changing rules allowing them to terminate drivers because they are hiring more then they have assignments and trucks for. Doesnt make sense but I guess if you hire a person at .26cpm then why keep someone making .33cpm, just a piece of advice always know what is on and being reported on your DAC report. Dont let it creep up on you at the last minute and bite you in butt and then you find out about a false report when your company starts cost cutting

The details of the policy change would be helpful!

Anyone with excessive tickets or a termination from a previous trucking company are no longer able to be hired and or retained. They may hire you if its overlooked at the time but it will catch up too you especially with the cost cutting. I was terminated from Knight Transportation for doing a U-turn, now I understand a U-turn should never be done but Knight put on my DAC that I have an unsatisfactory safety record which is untrue and the only blemish on my record. Werner told me that regardless of how good I did since joining them they have no choice and unless its changed on my DAC i am essentially black balled. I was good enough to hire 4 months ago and havent had any issues but now because of their over hiring and cost cutting I am not no longer good enough to be employeed here.

That's gotta be infuriating! At least us newbs are getting some kind of a warning in advance.

Please keep us posted if a solution presents itself. Everyone comes and posts their problems but very rarely how it was solved, so there aren't many actual ANSWERS to find! I know saying "it'll work out" or "you'll find something" doesn't really help much... but I'm sayin it anyway. Good luck man.

Thanks I appreciate it, the worst part is that when asked about how come this was not caught 4 months ago when I came onboard or within the first 30 or 60 days the answer was just that it must have been overlooked and allowed to slip through. Hope CL Werner likes his blood money that 350,000 he got out of that bonus given to the company. Oh well your correct its very infuriating, my only options now are to either go O/O with my own authority, fighting to get Knight to correct the report, or give up semi truck altogether unless its a dump truck or mixer

If you got the $$$ to go O/O that'd be my choice. Probably don't need your own authority though. The smaller local outfits don't have much to lose if you're paying your own bills by leasing you on.

yeah good point, I know of several in the area who are like that where they just need drivers with their own authority and they provide the trailer but now that I am out of work I gotta use my money for my family till I am back to work again then I can save up again

I worked for Werner for a year and a half starting in "02". I'll start by saying whats good. Ok now for whats bad...lol...They would give me a good run with good miles then make me T-call it. Ran alot of Canada and when i did get a load with Pars label they were screwed up. If you go into Omaha yard expect to get shut down for a couple of day's for 1 reason or another. Nice terminal though have everything there you could want...unless you want miles...lol...You have to stay on your fm if you want detintion pay or unload pay. I got a truck right away but have heard that many drivers sit up to a month waiting. This is just my experience with them maybe others have had better luck. Hope this helps and take everything you read with a grain of salt. Good luck

Seems as if a good many of the Super Companies are a lot like the military. Hurry up and wait, don't trust what you are told, and believe about half of what you see.
