Good point, that is something many don't think about. Because, more than anything, it is a lifestyle. A lifestyle that few can understand and even fewer can handle.

 

Ok. I disagree completely and people like yourself are the ones that cause more regulations to be institutrd. Stop worring about other peoples business. Ask yourself: Is he breaking the law? No. Does this affect me? No. So why build a fire when the weathers warm.

 

When a guy with three months experience trains a guy who has had a CDL for a week, yeah that does effect me. Does CNN tell the motoring public that the guy who ran over the schoolbus full of kids was poorly trained and inexperienced? NO. Do people assume that I am just as poorly trained as that guy? YES. Does that effect my livelihood? YES

 

No ones ever assumed any of that. People have wrecks. I pray none of us.

 

That is the only time driving for the bottom feeders makes sense is when you're homeless. Why would a family man with a mortgage and wife/kids want to be gone from home weeks at a time for $300 a week?

 

My trainer of 32 years when I started could feel what the truck was doing, where it was going etc without looking. I kept him up for the first few weeks just cause I wasn't driving in his comfort zone quite yet. I was passing through a town...he asked me what town I was going through. I just ummed and he told me...with the curtains closed.

Just because the trainee was waking the trainer doesn't mean the trainer wasn't doing his job...maybe the trainee was just a stubborn learner

How do I cause more regulations to be instituted? Explain yourself, how I, cause more rules to implemented? By expressing an opinion on a blog? You can disagree all you want, and you can go to another blog, if, you don't like what we are talking about! I, for one, do not want anymore regulation, takes or laws implemented. Except for the reform of our failed drug policy and failed tax policy....We are just talking about something here, not causing more regulations..

 

what it is is more rookie new guys been driving a couple months and they got it all figured out.

They gonna tell the old guys who have been doing it for 30 + years, how it is and how it was and how it should be...

After all they are truck school grads they know everything cause their trainer told them so.............. Lol, and their trainer has only 3 months longer on the road than they have..........

Your right we don't need more regs or taxes or fees, these idiots charging to run on toll roads ought to try fixing the bloody roads with the money we pay or start paying us to run on their pothole infested road.....

Exactly, we have no rights anymore, just an illusion of having rights. Like George Carlin said; its one big club, and we are not in it. Folks, all that Democrat, Repu;ican crap, guess what, they are all the same, its one big club. Has anything really changed in this Country in the last 35 years? Both parties have been runningg the Country at different times and, guess what, things are only getting worse, not better. Wake up America, its the people running the Country that are screwing it up, not us!

 

One more rant, jeeze, the other reason I'm going into trucking...I was teaching at the local Junior College, I say, while describing the actions of a criminal in an article we were discussing, "what a frigging moron". the next day, my boss calls me in and says, you can't talk like that in class. "What" give me a frigging break! The other reason is, I always wanted to drive truck. Give me my truck and load and I'll go happily down the road....If I cuss or yell, who's going top hear me from inside the cab, lol...
