"davidbar", I went to Roadmaster in Tampa as well about 10 years ago, like AT said you can probably do better unless Werner is offering to put you on the Dollar General out of Alachua. Look in to CT (Coastal Transport), or CCC (Commercial Carrier Corporation), they're both in the Comcar family of companies and I believe you'd see better treatment with either of these companies. Do not, and I repeat do not get sucked in to any of the recruiting BS that goes on at Roadmaster, listen to it and ask the real questions that make a difference to you, remember those people get paid to recruit, ##### in the seat is their only concern.

recruiters tell better stories than drivers do in truck stops!! as recruiters are just used car sales people for the companies!! they are trained and programmed as the company slave to tell the newbies they will get the max miles every week and how glamorus trucking is lol. and some even tell you how much more money you can make leasing there truck lol don't fall for that one.

Hometime starts when you pull into your driveway now. Training is now $400 a week as of Feb 20th 2012. Pay is .26 for OTR then graduates up from there depending on your division.

Yep. YOUR hours behind the wheel, NOT the trainers. Big difference. Bottom line, youre there to be trained, might as well max out your HOS if possible , get that trainee experience, get your own truck and move on.

How do you newbies interpret this statement from Werner's 4th quarter report ? "We remain committed to maintaining our truck count at approximately 7,300 trucks. In the last six months, our truck count has operated slightly below this level due to the increasingly challenging driver market. Our primary objectives continue to be expanding our operating margin percentage and improving our returns on assets, equity and invested capital, while staying true to our broad transportation services portfolio." http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20120126006477/en/Werner-Enterprises-Reports-Improved-Fourth-Quarter-Annual
They reduced their fleet to 7,300 trucks in 2010 and have held it there . How do you explain all the newbies always going through orientation ?

Average revenues per total mile, net of fuel surcharge, increased 4.6% in fourth quarter 2011 compared to fourth quarter 2010. Contractual rate increases, an improved freight mix and better surge pricing were the primary reasons for the rate improvement. Several larger sized seasonal projects in fourth quarter 2011 also aided the increase in our revenue per total mile. We continue to be successful in this tightening capacity environment by working jointly with our customers to secure sustainable transportation solutions across all modes.
We remain committed to maintaining our truck count at approximately 7,300 trucks. In the last six months, our truck count has operated slightly below this level due to the increasingly challenging driver market. Our primary objectives continue to be expanding our operating margin percentage and improving our returns on assets, equity and invested capital, while staying true to our broad transportation services portfolio.

this is how the post should look not displaying the bad things only.
