Werner training lasts 6 weeks just so you know. Guessing Swift is 4 weeks and Schneider does it in 8 days apparently.

I reRead all that nonsense. It's just the OP making the money. Some how though 700 a month is acceptable and slides by all government agencies protecting minimum wage. If you worked 31 days at 10 hours a day.... You only get $2.20 an hour. So I guess the OP is only working part time. To bad he ain't smart enough to find. Real full time job and not look to trucking like we roll money in consistently 52 weeks a year. Find a stable trade big dog like plumber, electrician, carpenter.

I make 9.76 an hour at walmart, they only give me about 18 hours a week. And i know truckers dont roll in the dough but they make decent money and its something i've wanted to do since i was little.

I'm sorry OP. That's rough. I grew up with not much, but I was never that bad off. Where you from if you don't mind me asking?

Have you thought about prime? I know for a fact they pay 500 a week while your training. That may have gone up since I did a short stint there. It may be a mega but you'll get paid better in training than swift or Werner.

Try Prime Inc. student training program. I'm sure they can get you on board out of the northeast. I believe they have a northeast regional route. You will need to stay with them for a year but you'll make far more money than your making now, learn some early tricks of the trade, and hopefully haul some freight you're looking forward to working with in later years. Good company to get your foot in the door with. Work for them and they'll work for you.

I'd list them above Swift or Werner, although everyone here seems to have a distaste for Prime Inc due to their slow trucks. Limited at 62 but often run 58-60.

These are all companies you stick with for a year to two years, learn everything you can and hop-ship to a much better outfit with better pay. You shouldn't go broke with Prime, just stay away from their lease-purchase program, get your experience in, and get out.

I'm from CT. Never thought about prime honestly. I heard the force lease onto you...

They do and they don't. They'll play mind games with you to try and get you to lease. If they force leased why are there so many company drivers? All you have to do is say NO! and get a dispatcher that isn't lease involved.
