That blows. I left Werner for a few weeks, just came back on 2/4. On a dedicated account now, whole new world. The pay still sucks, but in home weekends.
Well thank you for all the detailed info, really appreciate it. I'm starting with Werner next week and you've answered a lot of m questions.... Thanks again.
I like how all these new students are joining now after i got a student in my truck. The school he went to did a horrible job teaching him on backing and they use autos. He didnt even know how to double clutch. The only good thing is he a excellent learner and pays well attention. To all new drivers joining werner, do us a favor and know how to double clutch and listen. It makes both of our lives easier during training as well as getting along with one another. Beside that welcome to the world trucking!!!!
I am going to orientation May 13. Thanks for the info, very objective and helpful. The only discrepancy I noticed is the 275 hours of training you mentioned. I was told 225 by the recruiter. How long did it take you to go through training? Did they assign a trainer promptly after the two days in training? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III
I will let you know if anything has changed. You mentioned earlier in this thread that you left Werner for a few weeks. How long exactly were you away? I am only asking because I will be gone for 2 months in July and August and I am wondering if they will take me back after that. My orientation is May 13th. I am hoping to be done with training by July. I still have not told them, figured I will finish with training first.
I left for a month before I came back, stayed for 2 1/2 months, and left again. Werner doesn't care much about its employees. Took a local job, make more money, home every night, and the dispatchers & management make it a point to come out of their offices and say "Hi" everyday, to all the employees.
Been out of training for my third week now. Doing OK with Werner. I had three trainers. One flipped his own truck in Wyoming while i was in the passenger seat, the next one had family issues, the third one i barely remember, i only had 20 hours left. I did two long hauls with him and i was done. I'll work for Werner as long as they treat me decent.
