Hey BossOutlaw88 - can you define abysmal? I saw that post from someone that said he only got paid $125 a week? I could live with $400 a week until I got my experience in. btw- experience = 1 yr? 6 months?
Thanks but it looks like will not be able go back to trucking which breaks my heart. It seems if you stop to take care of your mother for 3 years until she passes away, you are considered a unstable worker. It makes no sense to me I did what had to be done. I have never heard back from the recruiter.
I am sorry to hear that about your mother. Call them yourself if they are not calling, you most likely will have to go through the whole training period again.
Thanks for the list of what to really bring to training. Are you still with Werner? After training how many miles you getting and what is the cpm? Also, how much waiting around and hometime are you really getting. Thanks again.
Thank you, appreciate it! I don't mind retraining, I just want to drive again. Don't get me wrong, here- it's not just the driving I love. I love everything about trucking! from dispatch to bumping the dock; unload and load- everything! (okay, maybe not the scales...although, that isn't terrible).
Four-wheelers cutting you off, tight appointments with no time to eat or shower, customers kicking you off their property after loading/unloading regardless if you have hours or not, company trucks with disabled idling, dispatch waking you up for random questions, lot lizards knocking on your door at 2am, DOT harassment, being forced to drive when your over tired cause "other drivers willing to do what it takes", sitting around for 5 day repair without pay, getting lost with bad directions, governed speeds make passing take too long, musical chairs for parking spot after 6pm, and the list goes on. Despite what I listed, I still enjoy it too
you are making me so excited to get into this career....perhaps there are some good parts to trucking??
I worked there for a year, took a road test second day of orientation and another one after training. It isnt real hard, not alot of pressure. They have ya do a 45 back in between 2 trailers. No time limit and unlimited pullups, just dont hit anything.
