There are recruiters who are not as truthful as you would want. Some carriers may not send a specific offer due to most not doing a background check until you get to orientation. If they sent a solid offer to you then they could set themselves up for a lawsuit if things don't work out or they find something in your background that you may have omitted from your application.

Call Bellavance. Not the best time of the year to be looking, but they are expanding and do give jobs to new drivers. Can your school help you present yourself to them?

Aaahhh, the ol' bait and switch recruiter trick! Most new drivers don't get those positions because the experienced ones are waiting in line for those lanes to open up.
If you are considering driving be fully prepared to be out 4-6 weeks. Anything else is pretty much a sham a lam a ding dong!

The recruiter is flat out lying to you. There is not a carrier in this country that offers a dedicated route to someone who has not even started training yet. As far as living I'm Vermont, you would be wise to try to get on with a company up in your neck of the woods. Last time I checked, there is not a whole lot of freight going to or coming out of Vermont. Another words, you would have a very difficult time getting home. Of course, the recruiter probably told you getting home wouldn't be a problem, right?

The guy who runs the school called Bellavance on my behalf but they're not hiring anytime soon (cut backs in the granite industry). He gave me stellar recommendation, too. The local Conway said they're interested. I'll be applying to them. Roehl seems quite good. It's between the local Conway guys and Roehl and this point.

Why would a company with several hundred drivers hold open a position for a newby?
There are a hundred drivers there already that will take such a job.
Recruiters don't keep up with specific runs either. They are trained professionals to paint a nice pretty picture to you. Then when you get there, you slowly find reality.
Anyone that has done their homework and read this forums threads about Werner wouldn't even consider starting there.
Roehl is a better choice anyways. Good luck! -
Granite always gets slow this time of year. Bellavance seems to be busier this year compared to last, and last year they needed drivers starting in march. Keep yourself updated on their needs. One graduate I know went to work for Prime for a few months and then grabbed an opening with Bellavance. My best wishes to you as you search. keep us updated. I'm "around" their yard all the time, so I'll keep my ears open for you.

I see the phrase bottom feeder thrown around alot. Seems every company branded a bottom feeder is the most successful.
As far as getting it in writing. As a rookie you probably wont as you are no real assest to them until you have experience. Plenty of students breeze through driving school only to hit the road and get scared and decide driving isn't for them.
