Fatback, I use a cheap gps app on my iPhone and also use google maps to scope out locations and how big they are.
As for orientation, first day is paperwork, drug screening, and videos.
Then it's mini CDL school, you'll go on road trips, and one day they will give you a road test but will not tell you which day, that way your not nervous.
It's also a lot of trip planning and more paperwork. It's easy, don't sweat it.
Werner refuses to put offer in writing

Also, when they send me a route over Qualcomm I follow the whole route in my atlas, I'm doing two things
A) checking to make sure the route they send is legal
B) making sure everything connects and that when it says take state road 149 s it means south. Sometimes the directions will be misleading, sometimes when you ask for directions to a customer you'll receive a message saying directions not found.
I advise always calling the customer, I do every time to double check directions and also to see if I can get there early. You can always call the customer unless they say not ok to contact customer.
You'll get plenty of training in orientation and with your trainer on how to do Qualcomm and e-logs. You'll need to do paper logs and e logs together during training and when you go to phase 3. I was doing both until about two weeks ago, I'm now fully on e logs. -

I'm a little frustrated- Spoke with Roehl rep day before yesterday. He said a colleague has my file and he needs it back to schedule a physical. Other than that (it sounds) I'm good to go. He said call back in a few hours. I called back and I was told he still does not have the file. He said he would call me once he does. It doesn't sound too professional over there! From what I gather, the rep and his coleague share the same office area. I'm thinking of calling for a status but I don't want to be annoying but I also have other options I could persue. Thoughts?

It took me two weeks of calling and waiting to be called. Just be patient, if you want to work for them you'll get in. If you get other offers with an equal or better company then you know what to do lol
