Hell I put an Ambulance in the ditch one snowy NY day on the way to a call. It was the ditch or the VW bug in front of me. I choose the ditch. That truck may be in the ditch, but why is the question..

Though taking his 10 was right funny :biggrin_25523:

I saw a Swift, Schneider, UPS, Covenant, USExpress, Roehl, FedEx, Walmart, Truline, JB Hunt, CRST, CR England, Knight trucks do same thing at one time or another. So what is your point? What you meant to say was i saw a new driver who couldnt park. right? What diffrence does it make what name is on the side of the truck? Were you born a truck driver? You seem to forget that YOU were a newb at some point in your career. t

Hey Mike, you should see Highway 2 between Edmonton and Calgary some days. It's a 4-lane divided highway, and carries a lot of LCV traffic, mostly turnpike doubles.

The guys who drive those things have to be experienced, minimally ticketed and generally of proven aptitude, and they live in a region that has 6 months of winter a year. It doesn't seem to make much difference. LCVs leave the road just as readily as four-wheelers. I've been up and down that road at 60 mph wondering why the hell I wasn't invited to the party that was obviously raging the night before.

There is no rhyme or reason to some of the accidents that happen. All you can do when you come up on an accident scene is to be reminded that this time it was someone else. The next time...

To err is human, and we are all human. I've been driving trucks almost as long as you've been alive, but I wouldn't put money on which of us will have the next fender-bender. It could be either of us.

Making us new people look bad? :biggrin_25523:

    C O M E O N people...the OP was a J O K E! I took the picture, and it was FUNNY!

Now, I may be a student, but I would consider myself to be a safer driver than 90% on the road. Not a single accident in 11 years of driving, and I live where snow and black ice is expected between November and March. And, not a single speeding ticket EVER. Not a single moving violation (other than a brake light out-fix-it-ticket :p). And, in all that time, I delivered pizza for 5 years, and drove about 35,000 miles a year while doing so.

So...if you want to come around and start putting your peers down, in any way, I would appreciate it if you could read your signature again. Go read all my posts, not a single time do I "make us new people look bad". Trust me, I will make us "look bad" the first time I pull into a crowded lot and can't back into a space in front of 200 veteran truckers. :D But, I will do it slowly, and I will do it safely, and most of all...I will do it with a good attitude.

Also...have you not realised that almost EVERY VETERAN around here is more than willing to help. You don't need to worry about your reputation around here until you pilot 80,000lbs safely through their hometown. Then...then you can start wondering what people think of you.

    ok.... /rant
