I forgot to tell my recruiter story!
I did talk to Schneider a while back and asked them about trainers
I told they guy that I had some concerns
Then I paused
He started telling me how they try to put us girlies with women trainers
Started spouting off all the sexual harrassement stuff
Assured me that if I had to be with a male trainer the situation would be handled with my comfort and security as the primary concern
I interrupted him and told him and said he misunderstood
What I was trying to say, was that there was no way I would be able to be trapped in a closet for 6 weeks with another woman
Nope, nada, not happening
Oh, my gosh, you men may have your issues on occassion but you are fairly easy to figure out
(kinda like a baby.... it it's not 1, 2 or 3 then it must be 4... pretty straightforward if you ask me....)
Major for me is that men's "moods" are almost always reflective of the immediate environment.... note that... it's important...
Women... are you kidding.... they can go through three personalities and four mood swings before they get their first cup of coffee.....
nopie, nopie... can't do it
Back to the recruiter
He is now silent
It's clear he is not quite sure what to say
I tell him that I have no issue with being paired with a man
And to ease his concerns I explain a little about myself
I explain that as long as he can find a short skinny guy (under 6') or any guy under 35 or so.........
.......we will not even remotely have a male/female interaction issue, it will not be a problem
He laughs
I then tell him that if he puts me with some 50 year old, 6'6", 220 pound dude.... then he best be single and all bets are off
He is really laughing now
(I like this guy already)
I don't know.......
Apparently it was the first time a newbie had made a such a request
He assured me that he had plenty of trainers that fell into the "no way" zone
A company that employs guys with a sense of humor.... I'm in love

Sorry to tell you this but you may have stabbed yourself in the foot before you even get into a truck. I suggest that you read Subpart C §391.21. Even with your note they may still check all your information and if they find out you lied then they can send a bad report about you lying. Then you'll have a very hard time finding any employment. I hope you didn't sign the application?? Take a little advice here please. Don't play games with these companies because they will hurt you and you'll be spending alot of time with recourse if you have any. Good luck and keep us posted and I hope they do lose your applications and I hope you'll take extra caution next time.
Sorry to bring bad news. What I think you should have done was not submit any applications since you paid for the school and NO notice was given to you about the mandatory companies. I don't think they would have any recourse then and any court in the land would side with you. -
Actually I did not sign the applications........
The statement above where I would sign said "The information given is correct...."
The signature part is where I wrote "this is a mandatory application..."

Did I do okay?? -
That's perfect.

Well thar ya go right there.
WANNABEES &/OR NEWBEES
Listen Quick!
SEE!
That's what I've been tellin' y'all, and here comes the proof.
Thanx Teller.
You NEVER get a second chance to
make a first impression.
Remember that.
Make the CORRECT first impression, and you have a better chance of being impressed with the results of that first impression.
I encourage a trip to Green Bay -- in nice weather, and check out the Schneider facilities there. I found them to be eager to give me the tour, and I tried to get my trainees through there at least once -- especially the ones seriously considering staying with Schneider before "movin-on", to a "better" company.
Nuthin' wrong with THAT.
NopE!
As long as the new company IS "better".
But I figure a trainee is entitled to see for themselves before they make a final decision.
Example:
I had the opportunity to be the trainer assigned a newly wed bride, but not to me.
She, "Sweetie", married "Honey".
"Honey" had just gotten out of the Marines, and they had an apartment in Sandy Eggo, ....'bout $750 a month, plus utilities. And they planned to keep it.
But, for a planned five-years, they planned to run team and save enough money for a down-payment on a home with roots.
And "Honey" would go with the Los Angeles Police Department. And he had the military experience that LA was lookin' for.
But Big truck truckin' would be the quickest road to their destination, ---- a house in SoCal.
And, as an added bonus, he and his lovely bride were trained for no charge to them, as the gubmint paid the tuition for BOTH.
Good investment, IMO.
I convinced them to get rid of that apartment.
Shux Howdy! I shouted!
Git'cher self a Holiday hotel room with a spa IN the room -- for when/if those rare PLANNED days off occur.
That way, where ever you are, you're home.
It helped that they had PLANNED on touching bases with the laws and the in-laws, who lived in Oregon and Kansas -- a route Schneider had no problem keeping them close to.
They stayed Big truckin' for five years and said so-long! And continued on with the next phase of their plan.
They got a house.
"Honey" joined the Police Force.
And then, "Sweetie" enrolled in college to further HER education to become, get this, ......... a TEACHER of Special students.
As they had planned, just like they had planned.
And, because they listened, and altered their plans by letting the apartment go, they saved an additional $45,000 over 5 years by not paying rent for a place they'd only see 3 or 4 times a month.
OH!
PLUS utilities.
Guess where the down payment for the house came from.
That's what I was thinkin' too.
Maybe that's why a certain trainer got dinner
IN-vites on a regular basis.
Till they moved,...................... to Oregon or Kansas ---- but it didn't really matter, because Honey got a promotion and a pretty dad-gumed healthy raise, --- and his (still) lovely bride, found the same at a private school -- where she was content.
And, IMO, they EARNED that.
YeS they did.
And the baby that was on the way.
As planned.
Imagine that.
OH!
BTW.
They first met when a mutual friend told the lovely bride-to-be that there's a guy you just HAVE to meet.
When you do, you're both gonna say y'all are the one thuther wants to marry.
And she was right.
