i remember Werner when I got back into trucking 5 yrs ago-- I went to the same trucking school i did in '94. The school even offered me a job as an instructor after I graduated. Tells you how much I needed the school . Boy I love lawyers. Anyway, the recruiter for Werner said I would stay out for 4-5 weeks with a trainer and not go home. The trainer would go home but I would just stay in his truck. I asked what if it was hot or cold outside. They said they would just get me a hotel then. I couldn't work for them because that's not how you treat people. I remember when I was getting ready to finish school they called and asked "are you ready for a trucking job where you stay out for 4-5 weeks at a time?" And I said "no." And they said " ok, goodbye."

I started out at Werner when I first graduated from road master truck driving school in 2011 and went to there terminal in Dallas Texas. Stayed in their hotel for over a month before I got a trainer and drove for only a week. My trainer wasn't bad but they had me go back because my trainer's first student had threatened to quit because she was waiting too long. They had too many students and not enough trainers. There was one guy who was there for six months and still didn't finish the first half of his training because of the trainer issue. Plus I heard a lot of females complain of sexual harassment. They were telling us not to meet their our trainers outside the terminal for pick up outside the electrified fence because it wasn't safe. The atmosphere of the place was seedy as hell. A homeless shelter had more class. I got fed up after a while and went across the street to Schneider. Also a little over a year ago I got letters stating that Werner was being sued because they didn't pay the trainees and I might qualify for a settlement. I'm so glad I didn't stay.
