My hubby and his trainer deserved each other! They got along so well, they discussed working as a team permanently!

    Let me check my logbook

This entire thread has been a laugh from beginning to end, but this line had me in tears from laughing! That's how I feel about dogs too. The original tale - funny but sad.

It reminds me of the first trainer I had a Swift - note I said first. After spending a day at a truck stop because he got food poisoning just before going back out after home time (I actually got home during training because he was from the same town I was from), him forgetting to set the brakes at a truck stop in Big Cabin, OK and the truck started rolling after we were out of it (I got the door unlocked and pulled the brake knobs before he even had time to put a thought together), and then him telling me that I needed to take the back end of the trailer I was parking the opposite direction I could see that it needed to go, I decided it was time for a new trainer. This backing incident was at the terminal, and had I actually listened to him, I would have wrecked my trailer and the one next to me. I got the truck parked, walked inside, found my SDM, and told her that I needed a new trainer, and told her exactly why. I didn't tell her that I was about to throw is fat backside out of the truck and run him over with it. He was extremely sexist, and didn't seem to think that women should be driving truck. His one saving grace was when he forgot that we still had the continental divide pass (I think - it was 9 years ago - whatever it was, it was a nice long downgrade with lovely twists and turns) to run in Montana, and had turned the truck over to me. My very first mountain pass (The hills in KY & TN don't count), less than three weeks in the truck, got to the top, not knowing what was on the other side until I saw the posted speed. Got downshifted fine, kicked on the jakes, and he came flying out of the bunk to find out what was going on. Told him what pass we were at, and he was genuinely apologetic about forgetting that one, and proceeded to coach me through it.

I did get a new trainer for my last two weeks, and he treated me very well, worked with me on the things I still needed work on, but he gave himself time to see just what I needed work on. He also had a great sense of humor, and we had a blast out there.

My hubby is now driving, and he got lucky with his Werner trainer - great guy, took showers, and taught my hubby a lot. We are friends with the guy, and even get to see him periodically. My hubby is no longer with Werner because the dedicated route he was on was overloaded with drivers, and the miles sucked, but he was with them long enough to get enough experience to get a better gig.

Later, really sorry to hear about your experience in the bowels of hell - But I would like to thank you. I had a really rotten day at my (non-OTR) job, and I needed a good laugh.
I have to go with SHort Circuit, write a book dude, it will be a best seller!
