No way I could actually do it though... I have never teamed, and never will... There have been too many times that I barely trusted myself with my life while behind the wheel, not going to ever trust someone else with my life while they are behind the wheel.Lepton1 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
ghostcookie, Short Fuse EOD, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this.

Mr @bingdelta, that was actually a good read. Well written post.
Your trainer is a Loser. In the Loser mindset, there is no winning, just various degrees of losing. Your immediate goal is to finish training. Things get worlds better when you get your own truck. Stay focused on the goal. And watch your back...especially around terminals and other Werner people. No one needs to know anything about you. Keep your business your business.
Luck in battle.ghostcookie, LoSt_AgAiN, Lepton1 and 7 others Thank this. -
Sounds like ojt. It's good for you report back when you realize how much he has helped you. Ojt,on job training, if u didn't know ,,,whenever he let's you go by yourself you will be doing the same thing the pay won't be much better
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
It's easy to make a trainer go overboard.
My thing was to with a bad trainer short the fuel. Fill it up and I don't give a #### he says. Fine. Short 90 gallons.
Suddenly we need another fillup. Short 90 gallons again. Eventually we are filling and filling and filling.
See how long before I don't give a #### trainer makes 2+2 = wtf?
In those days I was disposed of into my own truck rather rapidly. We did not have the stupid BS corporate 280 hours or whatever imagined quota to drive a trainee to Solo.
One last thing. Trainer has to do his own stuff hisself. I do not act as a servant. I got enough on my plate. If it's really bad I'll get back to the yard and head home and find another employer to work with. If the company cared to ask me whats up I tell them either find me a tractor trailer and dispatch me solo today or find another driver, I am fixing to head home. (Quit because trainer is not training anything and frankly the situation is untenable)
I don't cherish a work record or any of that. If the situation is bad, I never let it continue on one more day. It ends today.ghostcookie, Rideandrepair and Lepton1 Thank this. -
it's almost over. Just hang in there.

Go to love the revolving door, the op makes a good case for uniform training regulations and a system of actual training.

Compared to some. You really don’t have it as bad as you could. Count your blessings it’s not worse.
I’ve posted about my little experience with people who had been trainers in their past. Talk about stupid. I won’t rant.
There is a Werner training facility in Commerce City Co.. There is also the biggest Dollar General I’ve ever seen, with a huge parking lot there. I always get an image of Werner bringing trainees by there. Telling them: See! Dollar General is easy!ghostcookie, Rideandrepair, bingdelta and 1 other person Thank this.
