Trainers have a habit of thinking greenhorns are similar to pledges in a fraternity. Or like new recruits in the army. There was a thread a while back about hazing student drivers. As if we are middle school teenagers and not grown men just trying to support a family. You have to put your foot down from day one with these idiots.

All I can say, is this part of your trucking journey will be the WORST part. So it all gets better after.

 

Hold on, if you're in that driver seat, make sure he is on duty-observation. If he's doing this Bs sleeper off duty to "save his clock" you do not get credit for them hours you drove. Add up your hours on line 3 and send in the Mac for student drive hours. Mac 60 something.
Also, showers are free. Ask for team shower. Two separate showers for the credit of one.

 

Another point of view on this.
It’s a matter of people and the ability to focus. To apply their minds to do something with dangerous situations.
What many think they are doing is: To instil a serious attitude. Get the trainee serious.
I’ve had experience with two ex trainers. The screaming mindless bs at me. I found I had to scream back, just to communicate with them. I’d scream things like: Pull your head out! Cut it out! Get focused! ... Only way they would yield and start actually thinking. Which they had difficulty doing. They’re just an autonomic response to memories without comprehension.
In reality, what they are doing is: Trying to get the trainee to accept the attitude they have. They have no idea. What they allow in their hearts with that ‘attitude’.

 

If you are going to quit, do it now. If you aren't going to quit, kick its ###.
