I've worked for both Werner and Swift. Swift will treat you a lot better than Werner. And , the pay is better. Werner has better trucks than Swift. Werner will talk nice to you until they get you out in a truck, then they treat you like crap. The after hours and weekend dispatch may do that with Swift too. You won't make a lot of money with either. Do yourself a favor and don't even go to either one

If you pick Werner you will still be homeless and starving but driving a truck...occasionally.

Swift, even though most of us make fun of them, is a decent company. Some guys start there and stay. I've never worked for any of the big mega carriers, except for a short stint at Interstate. But the majority of Swift guys I've talked to don't have a lot of problems. Schnieder as well, if you can get it. Be safe and be professional every day in every way.

Both companies are huge, you will deal with mass chaos and treated like a number and not a name. Although in 10 years I've heard far, far less horror stories about Swift. Outside of maybe dedicated Wal-Mart accounts I would run as far away from Werner (the big blue screw) as possible.
That doesn't mean Swift is all that great, just not nearly as bad as Werner, to put things into perspective. -
I'm a "yard dog" at a retail DC,both Swift and Werner handle our trailers out on the road,I have talked to drivers from both companies and it seems like I've never met a happy Werner driver and a couple of those Werner drivers have switched over to Swift doing the same thing and they seem happier...I've never driven for any of the "big companies" but if I had to choose between Werner & Swift...I would go with Swift...good luck with what ever choice you make.
