Considering the state of the economy, I can't stand when co's turn people down due to extended unemployment.

I've been at swift for 2 1/2 years. Basically (as with a lit of compinies) you get out what you put in. I have a great truck (2012 Cascadia) great dm and goid terminal Troutdale (Portland) Oregon.

I'm a trainer who's truck averages over 15,000 miles a month. A,000t 33 cpm thats almost 5,000 dollars a month, hardly homeless and starving.

    No i'm not a recruiter.

I work with Werner. This past week I had 3 days with less than 200 miles per day(Mait issue with a trl that took 10 hrs for the vendor to find the part, arrived 12 hrs early at Bass Pro and they would not take me, then took almost 9 hrs the next day to unload me, and then 8.5 hrs to ld me day before yesterday). but I still got 2400 + for the week and it was the worst week I have had in 2 months. It all depends on the DM.

Their thinking probably is ... "So why did you wait so long (2 years) to get driver training?" ... and "Milking the system?"

Many companies are like this, in all fields - and collecting unemployment, especially extended unemployment - is a big red mark for non-productivity ... not fair, but real.

Should have told them "lived on savings" or credit, and probably would have had a better shot.
