Well today was day 1 of orientation and all I can say is I think buying a house involves less paperwork then what I had to do. We got to the terminal and did a bunch of paperwork then had a drug test and physical then some more work then at about 2:30 we were turned loose to do computer tests till 7 pm. So woke up at 4:30 am and didnt get back to the hotel till about 8 pm so it was a long day.

So if you can't deal with that... lotsa paperwork that has to be done right and long days... how in the world are you ever going to be a driver? Get used to it.

Wow, this actually brings back pleasant memories when I started orientation with Werner a while back. My only challenge was staying awake. I was pretty excited and nervous when I was assigned a trainer.

The only issue I had with my trainer was when I was practicing my backing maneuvers. He would go from talking like this to SUDDENLY TALKING LIKE THIS, OMG WHAT IS GOING ON!!!! It was all good though, and part of the training. I've always joked that people become deaf when they get angry or irritated, so they have to talk louder or shout to hear themselves.

Werner wasn't a "good fit" for me, but hopefully things will work out for you. Have fun out there driver!

I was excited about driving, so I did not care what was involved at orientation. the 3 or 4 days usually go by fast. Then at night it was fun hangin w/the other drivers at what ever restaurant was near by. Orientation is not bad at all to me anyways its not.

So far all the drivers i have talked to like the company and are pretty nice people. I wasnt complaining about the paperwork i was just saying it was a lot.

How long did you have to wait to get into orientation ? The recruiter I spoke to when they made the offer sounded like they could get me in anytime. The other day another guy told me that they wanted to make sure a trainer would be available and that I should call on Thursday. I put my 2 week notice in yesterday and told him the deal. He said I can split after this work week. I called Werner today and the lady said she has no idea when orientation will be. WTF ? I need to get these wheels rollin' !
