Outfit I used to work for wouldn't allow any communication while driving. They even had software installed on the company phones that would block all calls while driving. Absolutely loved it.
The last company I worked for had driving facing cameras. I don't think it was illegal. According to them it was an insurance requirement.
Complete illegal. I challenged it myself with our company, labour board and the privacy commissioner both agreed. That’s why Sysco had to remove them.
People won’t. Look at otr drivers. Every one in Canada is suppose to be paid overtime for all hours worked over 60. I can guarantee almost no company does.
I know, and layovers aswell. I understand not being paid for resets on road tho. But in my opinion 36 off every 70 should be over with now that elogs are going. We have enough time as is. And its not just company drivers who need to speak up, owner operators are just as guilty
