Although the whole story would have been a good idea, it does happen. My husband was 2 hrs from walking out the door to go to orientation with a company ( not this one) when they called him and told him that he didn't have enough OTR...well really? DUH he had told them exactly what his experience was and more than once. He hadn't ever worked for a OTR company, just been out of state here and there for the local companies he worked for.

Another company that he had talked to about us driving as a team, had everything set up for me to go to a "regular" driving school and him to be with a driver/trainer for the time I was in school and then we would "team up" as soon as I was out of school.... 2 days before he was suposed to leave they called and said he just didn't have enough OTR experience for the two of us to be a team.... so he would have to ride with someone else for 6 months and so would I, then we could team up... He really didn't like that idea at all.

The story is quite simply carriers are unethical how often have you been to any orientation and seen many if not only one leave because they "the carrier didnt do their ####### job and due diligence " bring em all in and see who makes it is standard operating procedure for recruiters and orientations.
When this happens some rascals turn around and sue the carrier for a weeks worth of pay for their time wasted . If this happens to you pursue it get your time back no one works for free ...You are not a slave

He probably had a ghost or a skeleton in his closet but if you ever went through the orientation process at western express, you'd pull your hair out too !!!

also in the OP"s defense, back when i started this whole truck driving endeavor i went to C1 and after 3 days i was sent home. THey wouldn't tell me why nor USA truck would. I went to school on my own and was turned down by shaffer trucking and they were good enough to tell me why. Turned out to be a mistake on my MVR. I had a 5mph over speed limit and paid the fine but they said i ddin't pay the fine and got my license suspended ... i got it straigntened out an dgot hired my shaffer. It's not always someone lying on an app or something like that. I do know in the 4 days i was at c1 we lost over 10 people so i agree that this stuff should all be figured out before people head off to orientation or class whatever the case may be

    cdcii Thanks this.
