Im going to compare a truck driver to a research scientist or research doctor. Lease purchase is basically the same thing as a government fund from the Dept of Science, to invent something. The thing is, both garbage bags will need to be paid of by the end. So what happens if the truck driver can't make the final truck payment? He fails. What if the research scientist/doctor can't invent ####? He commits suicide.
The best option is to not go with the lease purchase program. If your going to buy a truck, buy a glider kit, buy an old reliable transmission like a c15 (which i got in my truck) and rebuild the transmission. And before you rebuild the transmission, order a blueprint from a CAT dealer, China or Australia where PACCAR has the highest sales.

The first company I thought was willing to work with me was Western Express. This place reminded me of those documentaries about the unfair conditions of pigs, cows, and chicken at the processing plant. I don't think this was setup to give any convenience to the driver while at orientation, but you wouldn't hear me complain or anyone else for that matter because a lot of use had some type of criminal history. The quarters where so tight and the waits where so long you couldn't avoid any verbal unpleasantries up to and including assault. To me It seemed like some uncivilized filtration system to rid the company of any pressure to fulfill earlier deals made with new drivers.Out of desperation for a job I would stay in my room at the hotel to steer clear of any aggressive behavior, and if there was no way out of going to the terminal I would walk around the trailer lot until called upon

This is why when some dude boasts of his years of experience to me I don't care because they can still be dumb enough to lease through the company they work for whereas at less than a year I'm already above ever doing that..

I don't feel sorry for drivers that end up at companies that are known to be less than stellar. Ten minutes of research would've let you to countless western express threads that detail the various problems drivers have had.
95/100 bad experiences could've been prevented by doing research. I worked for western for over a year. I knew going in that they were shady, and under paid drivers. I also knew that if I ever wanted to drive for a reputable company, I'd have to start somewhere and get experience. After almost two years of no accidents and tickets, I moved on to a company making double, brand new kw, faster truck, and abortion easier to work for company.
My point, it would've been silly for me to come here and complain when I knew what I was getting myself into. I also knew that it was actions from my early 20s that I had to start with a less than reputable company. I sucked it up, took advantage and can now pick any company I want to work for.
If you've got a clean driving/criminal history, there's no reason in the world anyone should choose a company like western. There's at least twenty threads detailing the countless reasons.
