Actually, I was looking at Crusty's website earlier, and tuition was $2500 if you paid up front with no required signing of an illegal contract.
Not a bad deal if you can tolerate teaming, low wages, and awful treatment.

The contract the training trucking companies wants you to sign basically states that you will work for them for a specified amount of time in lieu of charging you for the training.

You cannot work for any other trucking company until you have satisfied the terms of said contract thereby qualifying the CRST contract as a non compete contract.
Should you quit or be terminated, you are required to pay the tuition before you can work for a different trucking company under the terms of Crusty's non compete contract.
I, too, have signed a non compete contract; it was the one I signed with CRST. -

Keep in mind that Careers and trucking are two things that react and destroy each other. Its a impossible situation.
If people were able to hire on and work until age 65 in drama free conditions of trucking visiting all sorts of places in the USA.. that I believe would be ideal for many provided they build savings with each load.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
