I started out with them years back. I stayed out with a trainer for a month. I did ok there. It wasn't bad for me, but I was on the flatbed side. Definitely not the worst job I've ever had. It may work for you if you live in the northeast. They have a big time presence there on the dry van side. Orientation then was paper work, physical and drug test and road test. All I did was drive to the pilot up the road and backed into a spot. That was my road test. 70 hrs of drive time seems a little light for training an inexperienced driver to me. I think you'll have to drive more than that. I don't think that's quite accurate but I could be wrong. After that month I got in my own truck and was running all 48. It was a learning curve of securing loads and trucking. I probably could have used more than a month of training looking back. The pay per mile was not high at all, but they had lots of miles. Freight was not an issue. If you keep an open mind, take things in stride, and learn their system, it can work. If your communication sucks, or you're late on deliveries, it's going to be hell for you. If you do choose them, hopefully you get a good dispatcher that ain't clueless because that can do some drivers in too. Good luck to ya.

I heard TransAm doesn't do any training with noobies. Is that the real skippy? They drive like that is true.
