I would venture to say it just might be the end of your driving career.

Pretty much yes if the fatal was your fault.
Plus be ready for the lawyers and the family to go after you,not just the company.

It depends on how the accident report reads. If it was your fault you are going to have a tough time.Even if it was the other drivers fault you are going to have to submit a police report to every company you apply to.

I would consider it unlikely that if say another motorist drives under your trailer or crosses the median and hits you head on, that it will cost you your job.
If the accident is your fault, that is obviously entirely another matter. Not only will you be fired, you'll most likely never drive for a reputable company again.

BS. I was leased to smx before bill died. When bill died smx stock was worth .25 cents, The moron you are talking about was hired by bill. That moron sold the company to western for apx. $ 13 per share. Bill was a great man, fair, honest, ect. He did not know how to run a trucking co. He hired that moron when he knew he was dying, to salvage the co. so his wife could sell out. I Would not call him a moron. Why do you?

yea,i got fired at smx because a dispatcher wanted me to run illegal and i refused,i told him to screw off(in a little harsher vocabulary)after he woke me up.this after running all night ,then up 25 miles of logging road to a job site for a windmill farm with 52,000lbs of greybar steel.having to sit up there half a day getting unloaded.then go 40 miles down the road to find a place to park and sleep.he then wanted me to go pick up and tarp a load, run 140 miles down the road, untarp and unload, then go 235 miles with another tarp and untarp.i told him i was out of hours and sleeping,he fired me on the spot.i was taking the truck back to the terminal where i left my pickup and was told i would be arrested for theft of equipment if i didn't drop the truck off in pa. and take the bus.well, they didn't arrest me so i knew that was a load of bull.but they did ,not only screw up my dac,but also disputed my unemployment so i couldn't draw.that's why i am giving up driving, too many college boys screwing up the works.and i'm not a steering wheel holder.good luck to you all.

so what you're saying is,shut up,sit there, and just take whatever comes.is that what you're saying? we should all just be glad that the powers that be granted us favor and allowed us the privalige of driving their truck.putting our lives on the line every day so that the annointed ones sitting on their butts in the offices can recieve their paychecks.go home and have their lives, while we sit in a truckstop for no pay.this is exactlywhy i said what i said,i'm a truck driver, not a steering wheel holder.and that's what steering wheel holders do.good luck with what little money the annointed ones allow you to keep.work for peanuts if you want to.take the breadcrumbs and scraps they throw to you off the table.be a good little puppy and they might even let you eat a good meal every once in a while, heck, they might even let you go home and see you family.if you still have one there after they get through with you.and don't complain when, after you put in years with a company, they walk you into the safety office, tell you they have no place for you anymore because,as a senior driver, you make too much money.and they put some little, just out of truck driver school graduate in your truck.and you go back home to find your family gone because you were on the road too much and they moved out.think this is just a fairy tale?it has happened to many a driver inthe last three years, including me.i was the number two driver in seniority for my terminal, had the most miles of any driver in the terminal, covered the butts of i don't know how many rookie drivers, including one that dropped a load of iced fish on the yard,no,preach that "zen-buhddist"crap all you want.it's time to stand up and say something.
