Western Express yep another thread

Those could be separated. Hard to tell if it's the steel belts or just the tread surface, but they look like they are far from being the correct shape. The weight of the trailer is riding on the inside edges of the tyres and heating them up like crazy. You were about to have a rough drive

 

Sometimes bad alignment can cause that,or if you drive on roads that are “crowned” on the edges over time.

 

Misery loves company … especially in this industry for sure

 

I may not have enough experience to shake a stick at, but I think 9 years should suffice. I wasn't really miserable out there until about the opening of 2023. See my last post in A&A Express. After that, I had a friend get me on at one of the ####cago companies and that went well until about the summer. Then I went to work in the Oil Field with a family member and that was until this past October when I was laid off due to broken equipment. Those last two were where I was the most miserable. After that, I returned to my former job in the cell blocks and the best part is I'm calmer and a lot less stressed. Yes, I have tons of #### to pay and a massive hole to get myself out of. But one day at a time and no need to rush. I'm also working on going back to school. Before I got this job, I was offered a job delivering beer. The reasons why I turned it down were because:
A. The County Jail called first and I knew it was a sure fire employment as I'm currently working here.
B. I've been lied to so many times down here in Corpus Christi about them hiring for CDL jobs, that I just wasn't taking that chance. Also, by the time they wanted to interview me, I'd already picked up my uniforms for the County Jail.
Did I leave the industry with a bad view? That answer would be and emphatic "no". There just comes a time when you need to know when to fold it up and pack it in. That's what I did. I loved the adventure, met some awesome people, saw awesome sights around our country and took thousands of pictures.

I have a lot of you guys to thank for helping me get through. I remember when I first discovered this site a decade ago. That was when I was canned from Stevens Transport. I was jeered and I was supported through. Then as you know, I had posts about the goings on for SRT from my beginning until it sadly ended. You guys were always there to guide me much like Dave MacMillan, God rest his soul. I appreciated all of it and I will be sticking around. I always need my daily sarcasm from @Lonesome and you too. You guys became family without realizing it.

No worries brother. Sometimes I feel like getting out myself. You just have to do what you feel is right for yourself.

 

If everyone sat at a table and put their lives out on the table. most of us wouldn't trade for what the other is going through. The other guy always looks like he has it easy but he doesn't. I doubt if the human psyche was designed to run at this kind of rpm. That's why so many people snap these days or turn to addiction. Life is a lot more stressful than it used to be. Technology hasn't made it that much better. We are undoing ourselves.

 

It was time. Some days, I miss the feeling of that 450 Cummins under the hood. I'd overstayed my welcome and it showed. No matter how much I tried to make it work, it just got worse. You all still have my utmost respect as you keep our country moving.
