Western has been a P&S training company for years.Bout 75% of P&S drivers are former western drivers.

Maybe. Either way, I already told the recruiter I'd prefer 88M

    I agree with your post,

In my opinion, trucking is the same regardless of what company one is with — meaning the goal of trucking is to get freight from point-A to Point-B.

The difference is the name on the side of the truck. However, that being said, some companies offer better equipment, but less home-time, and vise-versa. Some companies haul cheap freight none else wants and others haul premium freight that pays well and with good accounts/customers.

I hear what you are saying, but sometimes life happens at the least opportune times. I once started a production job that was highly physical labor intensive. Either the first or second day on the job I was sick with a fever and body aches. Felt terrible. Because I had just started, I decided not to say anything and suck it up. I dragged ### and fell behind. My manager looked at me like I couldn’t cut it, so I got moved around. Would he have believed me if I said I was sick? Probably would have thought it was just an excuse. Let me tell you, I am a #### good worker who has made a name for himself at every job as someone who busts his ###. Sometimes life happens at the worst times.

WOTC. Tax credit for hiring people who fall into certain categories. No requirements on length of employment to collect the credit. It’s $3500/employee hired that qualifies.

This. I'm that guy that runs his clocks dry, takes a 34, and does it all again. 10 hours down the line, with only a 30 minute stop at the halfway point. 97% on-time, and on the phone with the company AND the customer that other 3%. Just so happened that the ONE TIME I got sick enough that I couldn't drive, it was when I was 2 weeks into my time with my 2nd company... and believe me, I tried to drive. Only shut it down when it became obvious I wasn't even going to get back home (where I'd started that run for the day by going away from my destination to pick up the load) before wrecking the truck because I couldn't keep my eyes open and the tractor between the markings. Don't ask nothing other than a decent paycheck and getting home once a month at minimum... not at all unreasonable, IMHO
