They deduct $12.50 from first paycheck for a safety vest, hard hat and gloves.

Ok, thank you. Could anyone tell me if they have EZ pass or how they handle tolls? Do you ever have to pay for tolls out of pocket? Thanks again.

No EZ pass in all trucks.
They pay all tolls except George Washington bridge North bound. Do not take 95 North through NYC, you will be paying the toll. Southbound take 95 all you want. They make you well aware of this in orientation in Nazareth at least.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand about the EZ pass. Are you saying that EZ pass is installed in the trucks and that's how they pay the tolls? Or it is not installed, but Western reimburses you for tolls? (and I apologize for not understanding, and I appreciate you being willing to reply to my posts)

They give you all the equipment you are supposed to have of course, but you may need something later. They put the money on your EFS card and you go to an atm to pull out cash for it. The receipt gets transflod. It's imperative that you have an authorization number on the qualcomm from someone in WE for the purchase. If not the money will come out of your check and it will take 1 to 4 phone calls to get it back 1 week later. I'd write the authorization number on the receipt before the transflo. Some guys make pretty good money and end up just buying extra things that make their life better or job more streamlined.

EFS card? Do they pay direct deposit by the way? How do you manage your time then with having to get authorization number etc? I am debating whether to go with Western. They want to fly me all the way from Oregon to Nashville for a refresher then go with a trainer from there but have to commit to 12 months (because of refresher).
