My trainer was top notch. Greg asked me what time of day I was comfortable driving. He stuck with that, we worked the truck as a team. He did at first stay up to see how well I handled the truck, and quickly realized he didnt need to bother. Showed me some excellent info of preplanning that I still use today. Greg btw looks alot like Kenny Rogers.

I am currently at Western Express (should be NYC Express). I was a trainer there. I have been pulling flats since 02. Without perdiem. I only make 27cpm. That is ALL Western is paying. They refuse to pay me for oversize loads i did saying "It was on me". They do not actually pay anything extra. Yesterday they put out a fleet message saying " we are booking as many northeast loads as possible, get used to it",. I asked about off time and was told "driver offtime is of no importance, drivers do not belong at home". If you will not run illegal. They will leave you sitting. They are on e-logs. They lost prepass because the DOT took it away because of bad safety rating. According to DOT cops i know. Western is on their shutdown list. Last week, Western had nine roll overs. Their training dept is a joke. Trainers have no choice on the students. I only had one good student. A muslim hindi. The last was the worst, very racist against whites. Their head of training Teddy is very smart mouthed. Trainers make 2cpm less a mile. Western has a "drivers are truck numbers attitude". I usually get home 15 days late. Then they act like they are doing me a favor. I am now on my way home (dm was not there today, got a load home, he is gonna be pissed). Gonna clean out truck (they don't know it). I am going to their competetor. 27cpm or 27%? That is a no brainer. If a Western recruiter approaches you, scream rape. You are only gonna get a serious f^c%138 over.

My Western Express paycheck was $136. I am rich by their standards.

I am shocked anyone would stay with them that long. Make sure you turn your truck in where they tell you. Get it on the Qualcom.

There is always a bunch of new victims standing outside their new training and orientation building in the same parking lot as the Pilot in West Nashville.

If you have to go to work for these crum-bums to get experience? Get it, get the heck out of there!

That's exactly what I did though I can't black ball them totally. For the most part my experience was good on the flatbed side. I made money but I couldn't get home. That was my only complaint with them. I will say this: if you pull flatbed for them you will know how to secure loads cuz western express will put anything on a flatbed.

Considering their high cargo loss. I doubt they know how to tie anything except alcohol. To them, tie one on, means getting drunk.
