I drove for IWX during the acquisition. IWX was purchased for their DOT safety rating. WFX was in trouble
I drove for IWX during the acquisition. The take over according to IWX was because WFX needed to improve the safety rating with DOT. IWX had a very good rating while WFX was poor at best.

WFX didn't change anything for a bit BUT then changes in the shop ran most of the technicians off (many had been there 20+ years). Locks appeared on the interior doors preventing face to face communication with DM's or anyone else. They went from being a VERY open door atmosphere to NO CONTACT.

WFX maintained the IWX pay rate (70 cpm averaging 2500 miles a week) for about a year and then miles started dropping off "weeding" out IWX drivers. I talked to a buddy of mine who recently left IWX to work for XPO. He was DIEHARD IWX and would never leave, when I asked why he left? His response was they were sent an email stating IWX no longer exists and would now be employed by WFX.

I bought my own truck and trailer (avatar) and have never looked back!

I ran team with my wife at IWX back in the early 2000s. Steve built a great company. He paid better than most other companies, had the best home time policy, and had good benefits. It was nice to be able to walk all through the building talking to anyone and everyone. Best company I ever drove for.
