Ya its illegal here but after the run when the trucks stop wherever they do you can always see the ### end drop back down.

The truck class you want to compete in is probably one of the strongest street semi classes in the country, you'll need 1500 Hp to be competitive and finish in second place. You'll also need to have some extra RPM to raise wheel speed, the top trucks are turning 3000 + RPM

The rules do not specify that the trucks be working street legal semi trucks, just that they can pull a trailer with the fifth wheel without the trailer striking the cab during a sharp turn and that with the sled hitch removed from the fifth wheel that you would be able to hook to the trailer without removing or modifying anything else on the truck. These trucks are strictly built to pull the sled and nothing else. To my knowledge all the trucks are driven to the pulls and not brought in close to the pull by a lowboy and only driven a short distance to the pull.

The suspension is limited by chains to keep he drivers from adding air to the air bags after leaving the line. The trucks hitch height is measured with the suspension chained and the air bags filled pulling the chains taunt. The reason you are seeing the suspension drop after the pull is the driver is exhausting the air from bags to release the tension on the chains to allow suspension travel as he drives off. This is a new rule for this year to keep everybody on the same playing field as far as hitch height is concerned. The dominating truck of this year used a slightly different method to limit the suspension travel and from the rumors I've heard maybe protested at the Clearfield show this weekend. The problem is they used a pin system to lock the suspension and not chains. I don't see how this is a problem, because it still stops the system from being charged to raise the hitch height after the truck leaves the line, it just doesn't meet the rules because its a pin instead of a chain.

To limit Hp they have a specified diameter of the turbocharger wheels, by doing this they have limited the amount of air the engine can draw, without air you can only support so much HP. Unfortunately the diameters are large enough to support large amounts of Hp as the rules are written now.

Do I know particular specifications about these trucks? Yes, but I'm not going to give that kind of information out. Will I give you the help you need to be competitive? Yes, but I'm not posting it all over the Internet

If you're interested in building a electronic CAT to play in this class, PM me

Im glad to see they are trying to put a cap on the so called street classes, but a 4.1" inducer limit isnt really a limit, that would still allow some of these trucks to come close to the same HP that some of the prostock semis run.

Mr Haney, thanks for the info, I noticed the PA posse had to limit their suspension height and chain their axle to frame to prevent raising but i meant i saw the guys who dont run w/ the pa posse at sanctioned events. I take it you're talking about Hairhogers truck since he's won all but 2 I think due to a couple mechanical issues (i didnt make it to those pulls). I cant believe someone's causing a fuss about the pinning instead of chaining the frame. Is it track officials or other pullers who have a grudge? Unfortunately i cant make it to clearfield this saturday but i would have loved to go! Just out of curiousity Mr Haney do you pull a truck?

Thanks and i appreciate your input!

Also Mr Haney im not trying to be stuck up or a smart ### or anything just trying to get all the info i can on the street class. Im just really interested in semi pulling and have been for as long as i can remember.. I just got out of school so im still working on gathering up the funds to start building so hopefully in a year or 2 you'll see me around. Im in it for the fun not so much the race to see who can outdue the previous big hammer every year. Ive talked to Tom Lindsey a lil on the subject and i know kind of what im up against (as much as him or hairhoger or barron would tell me about hairhoger and barron's K cummins's) lol. To your knowledge, are there any street semi pulling trucks in the country that run better than hairhoger this year?

Please dont think im trying to pry where I have no business being I just like learning whatever I can

I don't knopw of any street trucks in the country that can show up at one of the PA Posse pulls and begin to compete with that group of street trucks. Cody is correct with his comment about the 4.1" Inducer measurement on the compressor wheel not being much of a limiting factor. The reason this size was determined to be the max for the rules was it was already being used by a few trucks from the prior year before the rule was enacted. It was put in place to stop anybody from increasing above this size.

I don't pull my truck and I never will.

Thank you Mr. Haney. This is the info I was looking for. There is no sense in taking my mostly stock truck and competing with these kind of trucks. When it said street/stock I assumed these trucks where in the 800hp range.
