Is it the auto/ digital temperature climate control? You can look at where the heater hoses go in on the outside of the firewall and thats where the valve is that shuts off the hot water flow. You could bypass it, if you really needed to.vikingswen Thanks this.

Anyone know why the Western Star's, don't sit level in the front. Seems to be very lopsided. The left side step is very high. Any sugestios would be very helpful. Thanks, Diesel Dan

You got a spring issue, we have the same issue with a couple of ours.

My others do to but we had our first batch sit at what looked like an angle off to the right looking at the truck from the front. I think if we ever need to change springs these will be changed too.
By the way it wasn't the cab that was tilting but the frame, the bumper was measured at each end and it was off. I've seen the cabs tilted before too on some used trucks I've looked at but maybe that was a mount issue.Skate-Board Thanks this. -
They are compensating for your driver....

vikingswen, Skate-Board and not4hire Thank this. -
Mine sits level. Had a W9 that tilted to one side, alignment shop removed a spacer block between the spring and axle and it leveled it out.

I am in Houston, BC and truck is in the shop to get the cam box resealed and the exhaust manifold gaskets replaced under warranty. Should be done tomorrow and if all goes well I might be home for Thanksgiving for once.
I have the climate control system and I think it is the controller that is broken This morning the display started flickering and showed funny numbers and symbols.
One other thing that had gone wrong in September was the DEF pump had crapped out in Anchorage. Luckily, it happened in town and the dealer had one in stock which ended up being broken in the box. Freightliner did have one and I was fixed the same day. -
Two thumbs up for Nadina Truck Service in Houston, BC. They resealed the cam box, fixed my leaking exhaust manifold and when they checked the turbo they found a small crack in the turbo housing. Which was also covered under warranty. That turbo would have probably lasted until I was out of warranty in February and then let go.
The heater problem was the solenoid valve on the firewall as Cetane+ mentioned. The controller display seems to be back to normal and the system works as bad as usual. The only good part now is I do not have to open the windows to adjust the heat. Luckily, the valve stuck in the open position and allowed me to have heat.
I had the cooling system pressure tested again and looked at the EGR cooler since the hot pipe was off, but could not find a coolant leak. The truck has probably used two cases of coolant since new. I have found some cold leaks over the time, but there might be a hot water leak too. I routinely check and tighten all the hose clamps as well.
I had the air dryer serviced and new belts put on as well. Western Star has a service bulletin to remove the water filters in the DD16 engines since they plug do to a chemical reaction and actually do more harm than good.
