I run a W/s 4900 (daycab), we also have a w900 daycab, so take this for what its worth. The W/S is 80 lbs heavier than the w900.
-
Our 2001 WS with all the chains, straps and 48' step deck weighs in at 32k. We have never weighed just the truck.

Every Western Star is custom built. It's very hard to compare apples to apples here. Many issues come into play. How long is he rail, is it a single rail, or double, what suspension doest have, what fifth wheel, what tires, what optional equipment?.... etc.
One thing is for sure, it has a steel cab.
And another one, it is a heavy duty truck. -
I had a mechanic today tell me that the Western Star is about as tough as a Mack. Or at least as a Mack used to be as I don't know much about the new ones.

thanks but I was interested in the sleeper unites
-
you don't really see a lot of guys out6 there running the western star with a big 82inch sleeper and that is what I am looking for and a lot of the time if I do find one the driver does not know the weight
-
What I posted the first time is a 2001 western star with a 82" sleeper. But we have never weighed the truck without the trailer.I would say that it is right around the 21-22k range though.

My 4900fa has the big ultra high roof sleeper, C15, 13 speed, 12's and 40's, 300 gallons of fuel. I also have a pto system. It runs about 21,000lbs full of fuel.

That is @23,000 full of fuel etc.
40 rears, rgn ramps, 300g tanks, generator, rooftop ac, box headache rack, 3/8 and 1/2" chains and binders etc, and all my stuff inside.
Only 3k lbs heavier than my old F/liner, so not bad at all. There isn't much steel in them, mostly some tricky substance they make the sleepers out of, and the hood is all fiberglass. The floor is aluminum for sure, as I drilled into it to run my power wires inside from the generator.
I would guess comparable to a studio sleeper W900, if not a little lighter.
