Not sure if you guys are still around but I attended Western Truck School here in Bakersfield, CA. I graduated on Sept. 30 did my DMV on Oct 13 and passed. Gonna go work for Prime beginning of November.

I took the night class 530p to 11pm Mon-Fri. We got to practice all our skills at the DMV and not in the yard made it alot easier to pass the skills test.

i am thinking of going to there weekend classes in sacramento

 

what companies hire from this school

 

Werner, Swift, Covenant, Prime (i just got hired by them), Stevens Transport (just found out they have a hiring freeze right now on the west coast), Gordon and I am sure there are others but thats all I can think about right now

you need to make sure that your DUI is gone... some company's will not hire you if they can find it.. If you looking to international freight movement. Customs will not let you cross. the best way to find out if the charge is gon is to contact the courts where you where convicted. forgine country's do whats called an interpoll check. they can see back to the day you where born. They can even see sealed records. so make sure you have a pardon/ expunged...
anther trick you can do. i have been told other drives have done is go to a Canadian boarder crossing and ask them to run a check to see if you are ok..... but i would not be bold enough to do that... the court where you where convicted would be the safest place to go.... dmv only keeps records like that for a short time, governments keep that stuff for ever .
