Westside Transport

Westside is BAD NEWS. If you get a good dispatcher you might be okay, but beware if you get Betty the B----. She really needs to think about a different profession as dispatching is very painfully obviously not her strong point. Maybe Hardees is hiring.

 

That's too bad you guys didn't have a good experience there. I drove from them from Jan 97 to Dec 06. It had its ups and downs but for the most part I thought it was a good place to work. I'm sure a lot has changed in five years, though. That's the way it goes, I guess.

 

I worked for Westside from 06-09. They were a very good company until 2008.I was making .42/mi running OTR. They had one of the best bonus programs. You got a montly fuel bonus, quarterly bonus of either .01,.02,or.04 depending on how many miles you ran for the quarter. Then at the end of the yr, you got a fuel bonus ($1000) for the yr if you maintained 6.4mpg for the year and .04 mi for every mile you ran for the yr if you averaged above 2800/wk in addition to your weekly paycheck.Then the owner came back from FL and started running the company and took away everything. Once the bonuses got cut out, and the new pay scale kicked in your mileage plummeted. There were times drivers sat in Cedar Rapids for 3 days because lack of freight. My weekly average dropped 700 miles and made .37 with the new pay scale

 

HORRIBLE COMPANY.. i had to sighn a paper sayin i wuld not hang up on my dispatcher anymore.. so i aked her if she would like me to tell her what iwas gonna say instead of hangin up on her.. well i was never so happy when they gave me the option to quit or be fired.. even sent them a christmas card to thnk them for lettin me freee

as i said.. HORRIBLE COMPANY
