Friends, i have an opportunity in Birmingham AL hauling gas, and im curious as to whether the offer is worthwhile.
Anyone that can shed light on this one?

Given your level of experience, your safety record...& that it's in a major urban area in the "deep south"....I would not touch it if the pay was less than $30 per hour.
This should also include time-and-a-half for anything over 40 hours.
Plus: full benefits -- 401(k), health insurance, etc.
Some possible carriers in that pay range:
- Gemini Motor Transport (Love's)
- R B Stewart (Buc-ee's)

As of today, a typical Haz-Mat driver in Colorado makes $29.10/hr. Some go as high as $55.61/hr. to a low of $15.62. Salaries can range from $37,000/yr. to $105,000. Most salaried positions pay in the $50-$60,000 range.

This one should top out somewhere in the 90s (with the overtime past 40 hrs -- verify in the interviewing); deliveries are primarily to PFJ truckstops (not mom-n-pop stores), & also to Walmarts, Sam's Clubs, & Walmart Neighborhood Markets:
Pilot/Flying J -- Knoxville, TN -- no move to AL req'd
Hope this helps....
