In 2011, a customer of mine bought 3 brand new T-800’s with paccar engines in them. I learned really quickly that I never wanted a paccar primary filter nor a paccar engine. My KW salesman says that he recommends that his customers spec a Davco primary as the paccar ones are prone to breaking the clear dome. In 2013 when I ordered my new 389, I was adamant about specing a Davco. My Peterbilt salesman raised his eyebrows when I told him why……he ordered everything he speced Davco after I told him why.
I wanted an old school spin on primary but was informed that these newer engines have to have paccar or davco because of the high PSI fuel pressure they run.
What’s the difference? Davco
