I actually like that look, if the rig is trimmed properly. I especially enjoy the stretches with chopped cab/sleeper.
Let me post the receipts as to why I have one. Go ahead, tell me Im douchey, doing for just the looks... As for mpg, that truck on general freight usually gets about 6.5 mpg (yearly average)
It’s definitely interesting watching a stretched frame or a big 160-260” sleeper trying to park. You won’t see them run anything over a 40’ trailer and even with that parking their 260” bunk (Motorhome) is hard to impossible.
I ran a 53 foot flat for 2 years with my 285 wheelbase (but also setback steer), im not saying backing into a parking space was ever fun, but it was manageable, far prefer my current 48, more if i ever install the rear dump valve i imagine. As for backing generally, most of the cranes i delivered had to be backed into the buildings they were going into... I never hit anything
I don't think that's remotely what he's getting at. I think what he's referring to is the day cab corn haulers who have roughly 20' between the cab and the trailer.
Definitely overcompensating. It’s common knowledge that drivers of stubby fleet trucks with die cut mailbox letters and acidized aluminum and beat up cab fairings all used to be porn stars in their previous life.
ya. just overcompensation for their short comings..like the fake 8" stacks slipped over their delicate 4". Not fooling anyone...thats like showing up at a orgy wearing a "Johnson" extension
