i actually have a pretty good marriage. as they say the problems will be waiting for you when you get home. as for me it was painful for me to leave my wife, does she drive me nuts at times? yes, she's a woman...... but i do love her and my life is much better with her then without her. there are my now two children, while i had my short stint OTR i only had matt; now i have another reason to stay close to home, noah. i have my wife, kids, and my home (everything that goes along with it). i cant think of one good reason to leave home. that's not to say that if my boss came to me and asked me to take a transport load i would do it..... it would be nice to get away for one day.... but he's not going to do that anyways because he would need yet another driver to pickup my farms.

Lots of married drivers and such on here. With the crazy schedules we got to deal with, I'm going to guess many of you that are wed, or together were like that before jumping into the truck.
Don't mean get off topic, just an observation I've been perplexed by since I materialized out of the ether.

My case you would be correct in that assumption. Both of us agreed 11 years ago it was better to remain friends and go our own ways after the kids have left the roost. We are good friends with each other we don't fight its more like a business partnership. Wife and kids learned while I was in the military to get along without me for long stretches so in that manner we never had a problem as she understood and respected my job; she was a Sgt majors daughter.

You keep on to that desire. For us, it was a case that we realized we no longer shared the same long-term life goals.
