What a surprise. Truck hits low bridge in upstate NY

But this guy timed it just right, made sure there was a train on the trestle, hits it after passing numerous low bridge signs.
And then:

Flames of up to 200 feet engulfed an upstate New York highway Thursday night after an 18-wheeler carrying some sort of compressed natural gas plowed into a railroad bridge while the train was passing by.

You can see from the pictures in was a '53 van.
Was this tractor powered by either CNG or more likely LNG?
Did he have some sort of hazmat load that exploded?
If it was just a typical diesel powered tractor topping a trailer on a bridge doesn't typically cause a fire.

Probably one of these environmental weenie trucking companies that switched to LNG or CNG to get the huge tax credits NYS will extend.

This is the future. Just wait until they add liquid hydrogen to the mix in these hybrid tractor trailers.

 

So was it part of the load, or were they the cylinders mounted vertically behind the back of the cab as part of the CNG fuel system?
The mystery deepens.
If it was a hazmat load, this company and driver are extraordinarily careless in the operation.
