These comments are all true, I think. One Texas DOT officer told me they wouldn't cite me for anything a nickel would cover. Nickel, quarter, you get it. 14" is a violation, and if you drive a truck knowing it's in violation, that ticket is yours. Like the guy who parked next to the "no parking" sign and was looking for a way out of the ticket. I don't think we should drive trucks we know to be in violation. If your company won't fix it, ask for another truck. If they won't do that for you.......don't drive in violation.

My one got fix within 2 weeks of the second crack first day and the first crack goimg from 5-7 inches to what it was. I just got the luck to have 2 DOT inspections within 2 weeks, thanks!!

But take the advice here if you don't feel comfortable with the crack then get it replace or don't drive, if they say something just go with DOT violation, and/or call safety, or wait till you're loaded and do a breakdown unit it gets fix. To be safe always report any issues in written to your company so they don't have any excuse.

It was suggested by one of the mechs at my yard that I "test" the glass from the inside using pressure if I were concerned about its integrity.
