Swift has mostly the west coast on Wal-Mart, there is a Big Distrabution center in Grandveiw, Wa been ther a few times myself when I was with swift, so I know that they have the entire state of Wa,OR,NV and CA as dedicated runs.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
What about Swift?

My hubby is with Swift. They have several runs with Walmart...I can't remember the exact info on this, but I know he spent the past week running walmart only out of missouri and into iowa, missouri, and illinois. (He is an OTR driver, but they were slow for a few days and he helped out at the Walmart location). They were back at the terminal each night/day at some point, so yes would have been home a lot if we had lived close enough LOL.
I cannot answer how hard it is or is not to get on those loads though as I just don't have the info myself. But I can tell ya that they were "running crazy" for the past week and the next few out of that particular terminal for Walmart according to what hubby was told.
Good luck! -
I am on a Walmart fleet right now and it is true he could have time off but the I doubt he would get the weekend ... the miles for Walmart driver is around 2600 to 3000. But I agree with Bull, I doubt he gets on the fleet right off the bat.
btw: Setting up for Easter was crazy for us the pass couple of weeks ... good miles. -
I worked for Swift for 6 months(after being off the road for 7 years). My suggestion to you is to tell hubby to go somewhere else. He's an experienced driver...go to a better company. Swift is a company for new drivers. The way they make themselves competitive is by hiring new drivers and paying them $.27 a mile. If youre fresh out of driving school, thats fine, but if you have more than a year experience thats not good enough.
PLUS Swift routes their drivers through their many terminals and have you fuel there. There are showers in the terminals but they are cleaned only once a day and get FILTHY!!!!!
Swift turns out drivers faster than a slaughterhouse turns out hamburger. -
I think just about every major trucking company pulls for wally. Werner has pretty much the entire Tomah WI dc dedicated to them, although JR Schugel did pick up an account with wally there in tomah pulling wally trailers. Just depends what state I think wally just spreads out there cheap crap to every company they can.

Swift does pull dedicatced for wally world, and if u get on with a dedicated with swift u wont see any miles I tried it got home every weekend though.

Does anyone have anything at all to say nice about Swift Transport? I am scheduled for orientation soon, and I don't wan't to make an issue of it or anything, but, gee, are the comments that I see just disgruntled former Swift truckers, or are you all for real?

Trueblue, I suggest you read over on the Swift forum. There are both good and bad views posted there and most are from people who are or were employed by Swift.
But for the record: I drive for Swift and I'm happy with them. I also am on a dedicated fleet for Wal-Mart. Currently I team but may be going solo.
