So, I have a question to ask? What type of expenses will I have working with Swift? I know I will have my food, but what about lumpers, tolls, and ???. I just want to get a feel for what I will need. I also know that the six weeks with the mentor will help with these, but I am the type that likes to have all the stuff up front.

My experience so far has been that I have needed funds for food, showers (got a couple free for purchasing fuel), snacks, laundry, etc. Basically, think about what you use every day (toiletries, meds, whatever) and what you consume each day. I haven't paid for any tolls nor have I paid for lumpers. Swift has Pre-pass for many tolls and we haven't use lumpers for anything so far.

You will have to pay a few tolls out of pocket but that will be reimbursed as well as scales. lumpers will be paid with com checks and most tolls are paid by the prepass as Oldnew said.

Swift is very quick with reimbursements on scale charges and tolls if you turn them in promptly.

    JustSonny and Geckolyn Thank this.

Well, all went well and received my CDL today. Going to orientation on Wednesday. Glad it's over and not so glad to see some of the people go. Had a blast in the class and group P414 ROCKS. I guess I'm looking for a mentor now who cares about training and wants to make money. Any ideas????

    Texas-Nana Thanks this.
