Sorry, I guess I didn't understand that it was a broker who took the business, thought it was a company driver who let his company know about the run. My mistake...
What am I missing?

Luvtheroad :
It was a company that took the load away (roadmedic) has it wrong about my case, Reason is I pay my broker on % and if the load pays less then he/she (broker) gets less. Thats why I like a % broker.
Thats not to say a broker wouldn't sell out, but I'm 100% sure it was the driver i talked to that sold me out, but I won't get into that.
1pissofdriver :

So, I guess the company may have just went direct to your shippers and receivers and did it. A little different, but not surprising in the way of business now. -
Davekentuckyrambler2 and luvtheroad Thank this. -
ROLMAO means, Rolling Over LMAO
Roadmedic:
Ya I am sure there are brokers that have sold out, but in my case my broker didn't know anything about it until the last minute. He called me to inform me of what was going on and how this shipper was offered a cheaper rate by this company and that they (shipper) would no longer need me unless I could beat their rate price that they where quoted. This all happened only after I talked to the driver of that company, that I lost my dedicated load, and he was the only one I had talked to about the run I was on, and it was his company that cut the rate. -

All I can say is Thank You, Thank You, Thank You... None of us could have been any more detailed in our posts about why these things are happening. If you noticed and I am sure you did, he never would respond to the posts.
I don't think he really is informed when it comes to the subject. But we all have our own opinions and we're entitled to post them.
As you said 6 months ago, you MIGHT have been able to plan but things were sliding down the tubes then too.
Most everyone starts out with a workable plan. It's the old adage, plan your work, work your plan. But right now, it's not always working, no matter how well you think it out. Many, many factors, we don't have any control over. I think that to be successful in this business especially if you're an O/O you have to be a business person, a good planner, and a gambler. But, that's just my opinion. -
