With your experience you will start at a higher rate, but I wouldn't count on even 3000 miles. You might do better in flatbed than van. Health care is available. Roehl has always had a reputation for low miles.

Roehl is really hurting for miles now, just like everyone else.
Don't be locked in on those days either. I left them last spring because their freight was dropping then and they weren't getting me home when they were supposed to. Miles were horrible, and the load planning was non-existent.

I still talk to my old trainer who has 17 years there. Even he isn't getting the miles he used to get. He's only averaging about 2500 a week, and he lucked on to a good dispatcher.

    1POD,

What could I get right now with a 48' Reefer out of Charlotte? Do you mind? Preferably not landstar or any brokers requiring leasing on, just the ones that deal with true O/O's.

FL, otherwise known as the black hole? Anything coming back from there?

Don't really care where it's going unless it's a corner like that. Is there a board I can look at for free without wasting a trial period?

OH and that was definitely for a 48', not a 53'?

How far in advance of being there can you book these things in general? Is it possible to accept a load a couple days before you get there if you are enroute to pick one up going that way?

sure it is..but the brokers are playing games..if someone calls them while you are in route to get it for 2.00 a mile they will lie to you and say it is cancelled and give it to ''joe blow trucking'' who just called in and will do it for 1.00...nice business ha???

yes,for the broker who will make more money to line his greedy pockets...its turned into ''cut throat''..

There are no ''laws'' for brokers or agents..The only course of discipline for them is that you wont call them anymore...pretty sick ha
