With us in the gasoline business everything is checked in a second or less before you can load. You insert a card like a ATM card in the card reader and it checks everything for the truck and the driver. But experience is left up to the company that is pulling our load. Once everything checks out they are responsible for that load. If they have a spill we do not pay to clean it up or if they have an accident we are not held in anyway responsible for that gasoline. Even if it's going to one of our own stations.

Lets not forget the public liability ins. The insurance company will probably require X amount exp to contract or drive for the company.

2600 acres PS? We had 40,000 acres in one pasture in SD around Newell-Deers Ears. Why, thats hardly enough for 1 cow.

Just from the questions you are asking you may have insurance for farming and hauling your own material but you do not have proper insurance or authority to haul anyone else's property . The cost of properly maintaininmg authority is too high to make it profitable on a part time basis . This site will tell you what's required to do it right .
