Actually "CDL's" is a singular possessive and it would be properly used as follows "My CDL's endorsements are HazMat, Tanker and Doubles."

You are misinformed or you are misinforming...CA has no CDL-C...the Class C license is the regular (or standard) license for operating a 4 wheeled vehicle, including up to a large rental van (U-Haul type).

Class B can be either non-commercial or commercial depending on the intended use. As a firefighter/engineer, I had to have a non-commercial Class B since the equipment had air brakes and we were placarded for the oxygen. Commercial Class B would be for DOT registered operation of delivery vehicles in commercial activities...straight trucks.

    Class A:
A commercial vehicle is a motor vehicle or combination used for hire to transport passengers or property or which:

    • Has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more
    • Is designed, used, or maintained for carrying more than 10 passengers, including the driver
    • Tows a vehicle or trailer, which has a GVWR of 10,001 pounds or more
    • Transports hazardous materials, which requires placards
    • Tows any combination of two trailers or vehicle and trailer

Yes in ONTARIO Canada you need the A with Z ( air brakes ) endorsement one old timer up there uses the story that after a few years you get the L and Y endorsement and then you are L AZ Y

Since "aint" and many cuss words are now recognized by Websters dictionary, you can look up CDL and CDLS is right under it. :biggrin_2559:

Actually you would get a red check mark on your answer in English 101. The CDL is a single unit not possessing but including multiple levels of qualified testing. Therefore the license itself remains singular (CDL) however the endorsement section, having more than one endorsement is plural. So your example sentence should read:

    "My CDL endorsements are..."

And California would actually have a CDL Class C...as long as the CDL is intended to mean "California Drivers License"!:biggrin_25514:

    English 102....CLASS DISMISSED!:biggrin_2558: :biggrin_25521:
